I received my bachelor's degree in Applied Physics in 1998 from the University of Valencia, completing my last Erasmus course at Imperial College (London). I was collaborating a year with the Solar Radiation Group of the University of Valencia. In September 1999 I received a scholarship from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and later an FPI grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology for the completion of the doctoral thesis in the Department of Thermal Engines and Machines, obtaining my PhD Thermofluid Dynamic Processes in Alternative Internal Combustion Engines in July 2004. In August of that year I joined the Center for Environmental Studies of the Mediterranean (CEAM) as Researcher. In February 2005, I joined the Fluid Mechanics Area in the Jaume I University (Castellon, Spain) where I still work as Associate Professor. I have completed different postdoctoral research stays: in 2007 for three months at Delft University of Technology (Holland), in 2009 two months at Purdue University (USA) and in 2011 three months at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

My research activity can be divided into different blocks:

- From September 1998 to September 1999 with the Solar Radiation Group focused on the experimental measurement and modeling of the ultraviolet solar radiation that reaches ground level.

- From September 1999 to July 2004 at the UPV, focused on the development of models for the prediction and optimization of pollutant emissions in diesel engines.

- From August 2004 to February 2005 in the CEAM was oriented to the development and computer implementation of mathematical models for the calculation of atmospheric pollutants.

- From 2005 to 2009 as a professor at the UJI, focused on the experimental study of two-phase flow in engineering applications, the study of the droplet drying process of aqueous mixtures.

- From 2009 to the present, our research group at UJI started on a new research area in the field of heat transfer and thermal storage properties optimization by the addition of nanoparticles (nanofluids/nanocomposites).

I have chair the COST Action Nanouptake “Overcoming Barriers to Nanofluids Market Uptake” www.nanouptake.eu, with more than 48 institutions from 26 participant countries. I have also organized and chaired the 1st International Conference on Nanofluids (http://www.icnf2019.com/) attended by more than 200 researchers. At the moment I am vice-chairing the CIG project NANOConVEX “Nanofluids for convective heat transfer devices” funded by COST.

I collaborate with several prestigious international centers. I am currently actively collaborating with: Dr M. Buschmann (ILK Dresden, DE), Prof. P. Estellé (Univ Rennes, FR), Dr. S. Barison (CNR-ICMATE, IT); Prof. Y. Ding (University of Birmingham, UK); Prof. D. Wen (University of Leeds, UK), and Prof. L. Cabeza (U. de Lleida).

In addition, I have coordinated two European Erasmus+ projects in the last 4 years (ITforest http://www.itforest.uji.es/ and IN2RURAL http://in2rural.uji.es/) related to renewable energies and rural development.
